The procession will then proceed from the plaza down San Diego Avenue to El Campo Santo cemetery where guests will pay their respects, view the public altar and add to it if desired, and musicians will be playing. It will begin at 6pm at the plaza in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. The procession is one night only on November 2. Many of the altars will honor the historic figures from Old Town’s past, and others will reflect more current stories meaningful to that place of business. On All Soul’s Day, adults who have died are honored through altars displaying their favorite foods, drinks, personal belongings, flowers, candles, and incense. It is celebrated every year as the holy days of All Saints Day and All Souls Day (November 1st and 2nd). The Inland Empire Dia De Los Muertos events are approaching and we couldn’t be more excited! Although celebrated in many cultures, Día de los Muertos, is an important Mexican holiday honoring deceased loved ones.
